How and Why did Highway Direct come to be?
A group of shippers became tired of the old method of finding an over the road truck driver. These were the things they wanted to know quickly and efficiently:
discover who was geographically located
had adequate experience
the equipment to haul their cargo
adequately insured
& was able to be contacted!
These shipping managers for corporations and individuals had to rely on others to collate the information as it was not readily available.
